Did you clean the fans? Game slow downs could also be due to overheating. Do you monitor the temperatures?

I’ve had this problem for months, and every so often google the latest theories on what causes it and how to fix it. Very little success so far and some money blown. Will rejoice the day a definite solution is found.

Rolled back to the 275.33 drivers and not a problem to be found. Guess I’m not playing Rage or BF3 any time soon.

I’ve been having the same problem….can’t quite figure it out….trying to locate the driver folder to delete the specific version but to no avail….still an ongoing problem but even thought it comes and goes and goes back to normal in a matter of seconds…..Nvidia should at least try to solve this issue….or else Imma switch to ATI….

i believe bro that this was a driver issues plaguing many users. lots of users complaining from the nvidia forum section regarding this 280.26 driver.

Ofcourse it’s useful.New drivers increase performance in games. If a newer game doesn’t run as you would expect it then a driver update is always the first thing to do.If you have issues then you can always roll back to the previous ones that worked for you.

when updating the new driver for videocard is it truly profit for working the video card perfect? or no matter.. and if no matter then why update.. perhaps update then for good perfomance maybe.. but i am just wanna know is it really useful?

I have the same problem with a Geforce 210.

With most of these, the video driver will not restart like it did in the video. Instead, the entire system will crash with a black screen, forcing a hard reset. There’s nothing you can do, because it’s a driver problem that nVidia hasn’t sorted since version 260.89, nearly a year ago. Us nVidia graphics owners have suffered this problem for months. The best ‘workaround’ is to install driver version 258.96 and keep it, until nVidia release newer drivers, in the hope that the problem is sorted.

It is not happening anymore but I didnt ‘solve’ it either. The crashing happened only on saturday night (3rd sept) and then everything was fine for the last couple of days. My only worry is that its a hardware issue that may come back again. I’m hoping its just the drivers 280.26 and that an update will fix things permanently
